REACH pre-registration for fermentation ingredients
STRASBOURG, FRANCE – November 14, 2008 – Sensient France has pre-registered all of its products based on yeast, casein, and soy that are used for fermentation purposes in Europe to comply with the requirements of REACH, the European Community Regulation on Chemicals and their safe use (EU 1907/2006). This regulation, made effective on June 1, 2007, deals with the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemical substances.
The aim of REACH is to improve the protection of human health and the environment through the better and earlier identification of the intrinsic properties of chemical substances. The REACH Regulation gives greater responsibility to industry to manage the risks from chemicals and to provide safety information on the substances.
